A fund that helps kids keep growing
Sue’s Sprouts supports the education of elementary school children in need in the Tampa Bay area, in memory of our mom, Sue Kelly.
Why we started Sue’s Sprouts
Sue dedicated her life to furthering the education and inclusion of families and children in need. Through her volunteer work in her children’s schools, her church and her community, she was a beacon of light for others. She spent hours reading, distributing food, and talking to our city leaders about how to make Tampa a better place for all.
We created Sue’s Sprouts in October 2025 to carry that work forward. Distributions from the fund support and advance the education of elementary school children in need in the Tampa Bay area.
Families who are stretched thin often can’t cover the small costs that come with school. A backpack, a library of books at home, a field trip fee or a few months of tutoring can change how a year goes for a kid. That’s where the fund steps in.
Sue also loved her garden. A fund that helps young things grow felt like the right way to carry her name.
What the fund pays for
- School supplies and backpacks so every kid starts the year ready.
- Books and reading programs for home and the classroom.
- Tutoring and enrichment like summer programs, camps and lessons.
- Fees that block the way such as field trips, testing and activity costs.
Suzan “Sue” Babyak Kelly
Passed June 3, 2025
Suzan (Sue) Babyak Kelly, loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend to all, passed far too soon on June 3, 2025.
Sue’s boundless energy, great compassion, beauty, courage and generosity defined her. She had a passion for so many things, including music, dancing, gardening, boating, entertaining, cooking, exercising and caring for her family.
Sue loved helping anyone in need, whether she knew them for five minutes or 50 years. She was the ultimate mentor and cheerleader for her children. Her passing has created an immeasurable void in the lives of all who loved her.
